The use of such individuals may raise issues of confidentiality, privacy, or mismatch of interest, and that, in many circumstances, such persons are not competent to provide quality, well-judged interpretations. Additionally, the use of minor children raises particular concerns well-nigh the competency, quality, and verism of interpretations and it is not prudent to use such children to convey information well-nigh their own education and/or ramified information. Children under the age of eighteen (18) years old cannot be unseat to confidentiality regulations under FERPA.
