These schools have led to a dramatic increase in the number of students meeting wonk proficiency standards and the performance gap between students in Orleans Parish and Louisiana as a whole has dramatically decreased over the last 12 years. Pathways to Manage a School There are currently two pathways to start your journey to unshut a school.  Click each link unelevated to learn more: If you have an idea for a school but want increasingly information we recommend the School Prospectus Process If you’re ready to unshut your school, we recommend completing theLeaseRFA (Full Application) Process School Prospectus The School Prospectus process is for individuals and organizations with a promising school model or concept, but who may require spare time and/or desire expert feedback on their school plans prior to developing a full lease using for formal evaluation. Prospectus submissions will receive formative feedback from the district and its third-party partner, and will have the opportunity to seek support from district partners with wits in school development. The School Prospectus is optional, but encouraged for individuals and organizations interested in participating in a future lease using cycle. ProspectusUsing(Released December 22, 2017). Further revisions to the Prospectus may be made prior to January 12, 2018. Fall 2018LeaseRequest ForUsingThe OPSBLeaseRFA process is for individuals and organizations who are seeking to unshut schools not older than Fall 2019-20, and who are prepared for a rigorous and comprehensive formal lease using evaluation. RFA submissions will proceed through the statutorily-required lease school using evaluation process, including reviews by district staff and an self-sustaining evaluation team. Legal Requirements Louisiana law sets out specific requirements for all groups submitting lease applications for either new-start Type 1 lease school or conversion of an existing public school into a Type 3 lease school: Only nonprofit organizations may hold charters in Louisiana.Usingteams must include three Louisiana teachers certified by the State Board of Elementary and Secondary Education. All applicants must meet these eligibility requirements in order to submit a full application.
